General Code of Conduct
Probationary Period
All members joining the guild will be subject to a 30 day probationary period. While we try to be a home for any player that wishes to RP as a light-side Jedi, and is willing to abide by our rules, sometimes a member is not a good fit for the guild (or vice versa).
Minor Rule Violations
- Displaying immature or childish behavior.
- Using Inappropriate actions or macros which can be considered offensive. This will be at discretion of the Council.
- Using l33t speak or inappropriate behavior in PvP. This includes profanity. If this is reported or witnessed, we will have to take action.
- Use of a banned color crystal.
- Use of a title reserved for a higher rank. (Ex: using the Master title when you are a Padawan.)
- Use of profanity in guild chat or other text based community resources. Remember, while we may be an 18+ guild, we should keep our conversations PG-13 when in public.
- Violating any of the rules listed in the Role-Play Code of Conduct section below.
Major Rule Violations
- Engaging in or promoting Erotic Role Play (ERP) on a character in this guild (in any chat, location, etc etc).
- Continual MINOR RULE VIOLATIONS after a warning has been issued.
- Copying or duplication of any content in any part of the website, including but not limited to design, graphics, and information, that was not directly created by you without the expressed consent of the GM/founders.
- Sharing content from Council forums with anyone who is not on council. Council discussions and business (whether in Discord or council forums) are confidential, and should not be shared in any way with members who are not on Council or hold Founder status.
- Slandering other players, guild members, or guild leaders.
- Using our media platforms, including but not limited to TS, all game chat channels (examples: group, officer, ops) and email, as well as any function affiliated with our guild website or in game guild to actively promote other guilds, or recruit guild members to other guilds or games.
- Vulgar, abusive, or insulting language in guild chat or other text based community resources included, but not limited to in-game mail and forums.
Severe Rule Violations
- Harassment, stalking, or unwanted attention directed towards any member. This includes using alts in or out of the guild to troll or bother a guild member.
- Plotting against guild leadership.
- Removing a Council Member’s administrative rights from the forums because you want to post in an area you shouldn’t.
- Repeated defamatory, libelous, or slanderous remarks made about any guild member. This will get you removed from The Jedi Order, and it will get you reported to the SWTOR Gamemasters.
- Using guild resources that you control as a bargaining chip or coercion tool against the general membership or Council in order to get the results you want.
Non-Jedi Characters
Those of Knight and Master rank in the guild are permitted to have two non-Jedi alternates in the guild. These characters are not permitted to RP with the guild, nor are they permitted in the guild stronghold or flagship.
Jedi and non-Jedi Secondary Combat Styles
All characters, both Jedi and non-Jedi characters, must have one Republic combat style. A character’s secondary combat style may be Republic or Imperial.
Content Retention and Usage Policy
All communications and notifications posted on our Discord server, website, or forum are considered part of the official record of this site. Once content is published on these platforms, it will remain accessible and will not be removed at the request of members.
Role-play Code of Conduct
Name Restrictions
- Names should fit the normal naming conventions of Star Wars Lore.
- Names should not be variants of characters from Star Wars Lore. (Example: Lukke Skywalkers)
- Names should not take people out of the immersion of Star Wars RP.
- No l33t names.
Note: Any name that does not fit normal naming conventions of Star Wars Lore needs to be explained ICly as to why that name should be allowed. The leadership will decide whether to approve the exception or not.
Title Restrictions
- ‘Knight of the Republic’ and ‘Jedi’ are reserved for Knight rank.
- ‘Master’ and titles containing the word Master are reserved for Master rank.
- ‘Padawan’ is reserved for Padawan rank.
- ‘Founder’ is reserved for members of the guild who are founders.
- ‘Battlemaster’ is not used at all.
Uniform
At this time, there is no uniform policy. However, we encourage to you to understand that we are Jedi in this guild. Please dress accordingly.
Banned Items
- Any item that is attached to a Sith or Sith Lore (example: Nihilus Mask).
- Outfits that make people look like a Sith or dark Jedi.
- Prohibited color crystals: This includes all crystals that include red in the name, or appear to be reddish in hue — even if it’s just the outline of it. This includes magenta, fuchsia, and certain orange crystals (eg: charred orange, fire orange, and hot orange).
Culture and Behavior
- Our preference is to accept members who are 18 years or older in real life, but those 16 or 17 may join with a one month probationary period. If inappropriate behavior is observed during the probationary period, membership in the guild may be removed.
- The culture of the Jedi Order guild is meant to encourage all aspects of the game to be enjoyed in a friendly manner.
- The founding principle of The Jedi Order is to be a place where all players could come and enjoy role-playing within Jedi Lore.
- While The Jedi Order is a large role-playing organization, we are not limited to that activity. The Jedi Order is also equally involved in PvE and PvP activities.
Group Chat and Whispers
- If you wish to RP via whispers, there are several options available to you. First, make certain the other player is aware of your intentions to role-play in tells. This can be accomplished by asking, using <<Comms>> or <<Force Telepathy>>. Be courteous to other players if they choose not to respond to <<Force Telepathy>>, as not all players acknowledge it as a source of communication, or may have a story that explains why they will not respond.
- Regarding non-RP and free speech: please keep in mind that you represent The Jedi Order at all times, so try not to be offensive.
Guild Chat
- This is a free speech chat with some restrictions. Keep the conversations free from cursing and inappropriate topics. Topics that should be avoided include, but are not limited to: sex, religion, politics, race, nationality, or any other topic inappropriate for children. Basically, keep this about the guild, the game, or Star Wars. As a general guideline, keep your conversations in Guild Chat PG-13.
- Cursing is not permitted in guild chat.
- VoIP chat is rated R and is unrestricted except that you will not use this tool to slander guild members or leaders, nor will you make vulgar, abusive, or insulting remarks (example: racist comments or words).
- VoIP chat members should refrain from talking about religion or politics in VoIP. If you wish to speak with members about these topics, please do it in a private chat.
Using ‘/say’ in Chat
Always try to remain IN character. Your character should always be unique based on how you have developed them. When dealing with a situation, ask yourself, “How would a Jedi reply, and how would my character reply?” If you are using free speech while using /say, please note that with ((parenthesis)) = out of character.
Paths of Study
There are four Paths of Study within The Jedi Order. There are no restrictions on builds or saber colors for the schools (however, no one can use crystal colors listed in the banned section). The four paths of study (schools) are:
- Consular: Focusing on the mysteries of the Force, they are the healers, diplomats, and explorers of the Order.
- Guardian: Focusing on attaining mastery of the lightsaber, they are the sword and shield of the Order.
- Mystic: Focusing on the art of stealth and elimination of the dark-side, they are the infiltrators and wardens of the Order.
- Sentinel: Focusing on the intricacies of investigation and technology, they are the slicers and Watchmen of the Order.
Leadership Code of Conduct
Founding Members
Only Foundational Arbiters will hold the guild tag. If the Grandmaster of the Order is not a Foundational Arbiter, then a rank will be created for them below the guild leader rank, and they will be given all available privileges. If the Grandmaster needs something changed, they will need to ask the holder of the guild tag to change it for them. The Grandmaster position is appointed by the Foundational Arbiters.
Jedi Council
- The Jedi Council is the leadership body of the Jedi Order and consists of 14 members.
- The Grandmaster of the Order is the leader of the Order. They are responsible for seeing to the health of the Jedi Order, including the Council, and ensuring all aspects of the foundational approach are being followed.
- The Master of the Council is the second-in-command of the Order. The Master of the Council is appointed by the Grandmaster on as-needed basis.
- The School Headmasters are charged with leading their respective schools and working as members of the Council. They are responsible for coordinating and running RP events and classes during their school’s assigned weeks (and in general).
- Each school has two subseats. Currently, they are not designated as PvE and PvP, but each school is expected to ensure their school provides these types of activities.
- Once appointed to the Council, the member receives the rank of Council Member and is promoted to the rank of Master for the duration of their Council service.
- The Grandmaster of the Order will select the School Headmasters. Members of the Founding Membership may hold these positions as long as they are actively playing the game, and they are appointed by the Grandmaster.
- The School Headmasters will appoint their own council sub-seats.
- All leaders of the Jedi Order are expected to be 21 years of age and to conduct themselves as adults. In extremely rare circumstances, the Grandmaster may permit the promotion of someone younger than 21, but older than 18. This type of exception should be only be done when the individual has demonstrated extreme maturity, and the Grandmaster is willing to vouch for the candidate.
Rights and Responsibilities of the Jedi Council
- A majority Council vote can kick a member or overturn a decision to kick a member.
- All Council members can email, sponsor, and accept new members into The Jedi Order.
- Council members must teach classes required for trials.
- All Council will hold and conduct the weekly recruitment ceremonies.
- Enforce guild rules and conduct standards. Post evidence of violations in the Rule Breaking section of the Forums.
- Council members are expected to hold events in their areas of responsibility.
- Kick non-council members from The Jedi Order for rule violations when circumstances warrant.
- Council Members can propose courses of action for discussion and potential vote. The Grandmaster of the Order may VETO any vote. A two-thirds majority vote is required to overrule the Grandmaster.
- Council members must recruit new members into The Jedi Order.
- The school headmasters are responsible for the RP programs run by their respective schools. They are able to change their programs when they feel there is a need, but these changes should be brought to the attention of the Grandmaster for discussion and implementation should the Grandmaster not have objections.
